Grubhub Customer Receives Disgusting Drink Instead of Chick-fil-A Milkshake

Start

Caleb Wood was in the mood for some French fries and a milkshake from Chick-fil-A, so the Saratoga Springs, UT man placed an order from the fast food chain through GrubHub. When he received his order, however, got something very different in his bag.

“When I started eating my meal upon delivery, I put a straw in my cup that was delivered and took a sip,” he recounted to local news station ABC4. “I soon discovered that the cup delivered to me from the Grubhub driver was a warm cup of urine.”

Home security footage captured the Grubhub delivery as well as Wood confronting the driver after he called him back about the order. “Do you realize this is pee?” Wood asked the driver while holding the cup. The delivery person admitted he mixed up the cups in his car because he keeps one in there to relieve himself when he works long days with few bathroom breaks

The sheer disgust wasn’t the only problem Wood had to deal with. He claimed that he got sick after he drank the man’s urine. He reached out to Grubhub to see what could be done, but the company took four days to get back to him. When they did, he says they only helped him out partway, refunding only a portion of the approximately $25 meal.

“They refunded like $18, the actual cost of the food,” Wood said. “They didn’t refund the delivery fee or the tip that I gave.”

Grubhub issued a statement to ABC4 defending themselves in the snafu. The delivery app admitted it’s seeking to remedy the problem at the customer service level.

“We took immediate action with the driver and ended his contract with us,” the statement read. “We’re following up with the customer to apologize and are coaching the representative who was previously in touch with the customer.”

Let this be a warning to always double-check your delivery orders before you chow down.
