MACON — A Circle K at 2580 Riverside Drive was the scene of an armed robbery in broad daylight today.

At 12:30 p.m., in the midst of bustling daily business, a masked man, brandishing a firearm, stormed the premises demanding money.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the man pointed the gun at the clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Sheriff’s officials say the robber didn’t act alone, though. Outside, a second individual, also masked and clad in a gray jumpsuit, awaited. Together, the pair fled the scene on foot, vanishing before law enforcement could arrive.

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

In the wake of the robbery, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a thorough investigation. Authorities described the initial suspect as a black male dressed entirely in dark clothing. His companion was similarly identified as a black male, dressed in a gray jumpsuit.
