The original story is below.

The Newnan Police Department is investigating two threatening voicemails left at Newnan High School. The threats referenced a possible school shooting to occur today.

According to a letter to parents from Newnan High School Principal Chase Puckett, the school received two voicemails at about 7:55 a.m.

“One message made reference to a possible shooting to occur at Newnan High School today around 8:30 a.m..  A second message made reference to the individual “shooting up” Newnan High School at 10:30 a.m.,” Puckett said in the letter.

Law enforcement presence has been increased both on the high school’s main campus and the Cougar Village Campus.

Puckett said students would not be penalized if their parents chose to keep them home today.
