14-Year-Old Colt Gray is facing charges after a deadly shooting at Apalachee High School that left four people dead and nine others injured. Authorities released Gray’s mugshot today.

🔍 What’s Happening:
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has confirmed Colt Gray faces four felony murder charges, and additional charges are expected.

  • Gray opened fire on Wednesday at Apalachee High School.
  • Law enforcement says Gray was a student at the school.

The victims, identified as two teachers and two students, are 39-year-old Richard Aspinwall, 53-year-old Christina Irimie, and students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14 years old.

💡 Between the Lines: Gray had been on law enforcement’s radar before. In 2023, he was investigated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office after posting online threats involving firearms. At the time, his father claimed Gray had no unsupervised access to guns. Despite this, the incident raised concerns that went unheeded.

  • He was 13 when the first threats were reported.
  • The FBI was involved in the investigation, but no charges were filed.
  • Authorities say Wednesday was only Gray’s second day at Apalachee High and that he was feeling anxiety and went to the school counselor’s office to deal with his anxiety prior to the shooting.
