A 25-year-old man is dead after police say he attacked a woman who was on a riding lawnmower and was shot by her husband.
Deputies responded to a person assaulting a woman at a home on Trophy Place just after 5 p.m. Thursday.
While in route deputies were told that the suspect had been shot by the victim’s husband.
Upon arrival deputies found a 25-year-old Lizella man in the front yard of the home naked with gunshot wounds to the chest.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a 67-year-old female was on a riding mower cutting her grass when the naked man tackled her off the lawnmower.
The woman’s 66-year-old husband attempted to pull the suspect off his wife but was also attacked by the man.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect then began attacking the female again and that is when the husband retrieved his firearm and shot the suspect.
The woman was taken to the Piedmont Hospital and is undergoing treatment for her injuries. She is listed in stable condition at this time. The victim’s husband had minor injuries and was treated on scene.
The 25-year-old man was taken to the Atrium Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead by staff. The next of kin has not been notified.
