While much of the nation is dominated by corporate gas chains, three Georgia-owned fuel stops have earned national recognition for turning everyday fill-ups into memorable experiences.

A recent survey of drivers across America revealed the country’s most beloved independent gas stations, with three Georgia establishments making the prestigious list. Gas Bros in Hapeville claimed the state’s top spot, ranking 47th nationally.

More Than Fuel

Gas Bros isn’t your typical roadside stop. This Hapeville hotspot has built a reputation for blending exotic snacks with handcrafted halal street food under one vibrant roof. Open daily until 9 pm, it serves the airport district with both fuel and flavor.

Georgia’s Other Standouts

Decatur’s Pure Service Station claimed the 54th position nationally, offering a throwback to full-service stations with automotive repair, emissions testing, and a car wash alongside fuel and convenience items. Customers praise the knowledgeable staff and trustworthy atmosphere.

Rounding out Georgia’s representation is Montezuma Gas N Go at number 70. This family-owned establishment has served southern Georgia for over 60 years with its “Fuel your Journey” approach. The station features a popular deli serving Perry’s Chicken and pizza, plus a convenient drive-thru window.

America’s Top Independent Stations

The national survey crowned Rumpy’s Bakery & Deli in Gainesville, Texas as America’s favorite independent gas station, famous for its scratch-made fried pies and fresh breads that transform a simple fuel stop into a culinary destination.

Rhode Island’s Patriot Petroleum + New England Homemade Donuts secured second place with its unique business model combining a family-owned petroleum company with a beloved regional bakery.

Boulineau’s Express in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a family operation since 1948, rounded out the top three with its comprehensive fuel options and robust food program featuring fried chicken and pizza.
