Retired Sergeant Chris King, a longtime firefighter and United States Marine, has died following a battle with cancer. King was known for his dedication to protecting Cherokee Coounty and supporting those around him.
Throughout his career, King showed strength and compassion. He saved lives, mentored others, and left a lasting legacy in the fire service.
In his honor, all Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services stations and support facilities will fly flags at half-staff.
The department expressed condolences to King’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters, asking the community to keep them in their thoughts during this difficult time.
