Roswell is stepping up its efforts to make the city safer and more connected. Mayor Kurt Wilson unveiled ambitious plans to improve sidewalks, roads, and trails during his State of the City speech, emphasizing a vision for a walkable community.
🚦 What’s Happening: Over the past two years, Roswell has launched more than 50 transportation projects aimed at improving mobility. Mayor Wilson announced the addition of a dedicated sidewalk crew to keep that momentum going. “To ensure that we maintain momentum, we’ve approved the addition of a dedicated sidewalk crew, a team of five new employees focused on building sidewalks, multi-use trails, and implementing traffic-calming measures throughout the city.” Wilson said.
Projects like the Riverside Road Complete Street Improvement Plan will create safer pathways for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. Meanwhile, new median islands along Holcomb Bridge Road are already slowing down traffic, with more expansions planned for 2025.
📅 What’s Next: The city is committed to further improvements. Wilson reiterated that these changes are not just plans but fully funded initiatives. “we’re laying the foundation for a more walkable and accessible community,” he said.
