Early Thursday morning, a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash on Mercer University Drive in Macon, leaving several teenagers injured.
🚔 The Details: Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a vehicle break-in on Lamar Road around 1:30 a.m. A witness provided a description of the suspect vehicle, which deputies located on Napier Avenue. The vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, was reported stolen on July 10 at 4 a.m.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but say the driver, identified as 17-year-old Jakhori Jamal Woolfolk, refused to comply, leading deputies on a pursuit. The chase continued until the vehicle reached Mercer University Drive, where a Georgia State Patrol unit intervened, using a PIT maneuver to stop the car. The TrailBlazer collided with a utility pole at the intersection of Mercer University Drive and Burton Avenue.
