What Happened?: This afternoon, panic struck the airport when Atlanta Police say 44-year-old Damaris Milton stabbed three people, including an officer, before being detained.

Police say after allegedly assaulting a taxi driver, Milton proceeded to attack near a Security Checkpoint.

The Details: The violence began in a taxi where police say the driver became Milton’s first victim. Once at the airport, near the west crossover by the Security Checkpoint, officers engaged, attempting to de-escalate and ensure bystanders’ safety. In the ensuing confrontation, police say Milton injured another civilian and an officer. Her rampage was halted when another officer tackled and disarmed her.

What’s Next?: Legal action is imminent for Milton. After the charges are formalized, she’ll be relocated to the Clayton County Jail.
