Pedestrian and bicyclist injured by hit-and-run driver in Albany

ALBANY — A male bicyclist and a female pedestrian were struck by a car as they attempted to cross the street Saturday night.

Officers responded to the 900 block of South Slappey Boulevard in reference to a pedestrian involved hit-and-run at about 10:48 p.m.

The bicyclist and pedestrian were both crossing West when they were struck by a dark gray 2009-2011 Honda Pilot heading Sourth.

According to the Albany Police Department, the driver of the Honda Pilot left the scene before officers arrived.

The bicyclist suffered serious injuries, and the pedestrian suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and are in stable condition.
