LAWRENCEVILLE — The Gwinnett County Police Department Special Victims Unit needs the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly touched a 13-year-old girl inappropriately in a local clothing store.

According to the Police Dept., the incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at the Burlington Coat Factory at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway in unincorporated Lawrenceville at about 6p.m.

Police say the girl eventually told her mother who reported the incident to the store manager.  She told the responding officer that the man rubbed his private area against her as she was kneeling down looking at some clothing. According to the girl, the man tried to engage in conversation with her asking her age.

“The quick-thinking girl used her phone and captured a picture of the man,” said police spokeswoman Michele Pihera. Police say the man is about 5 feet 6 inches with dark hair. According to the photo, he was wearing a dark blue windbreaker jacket with three white stripes. The jacket has grey lining.
