Free Defensive Driving Classes Offered for Bibb County Teen Drivers

🚗 The Gist: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Outreach Section is providing free defensive driving classes for teenagers aged 15 to 20 during the month of July.

🎯 Why It Matters: These classes aim to equip young drivers with the skills and knowledge needed to make sound decisions behind the wheel, avoid distractions, and ultimately reduce the number of crashes and injuries associated with teen drivers.

📅 What’s Happening: The one-day classes will be held on July 8, July 10, and July 13, with each session running from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Participants must be between 15 and 20 years old and provide a copy of their valid driver’s license or learner’s license.
  • The course includes hands-on experience with driving simulators, and lunch will be provided at no cost to the students.

💡 Between the Lines: While the course does not fulfill Joshua’s Law requirements, most insurance companies offer discounts for completing the program.

  • Space is limited to 25 participants per class, so interested individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

📞 Get Involved: To learn more about the defensive driving classes or to register for a session, contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section at 478-803-2710. Registration will remain open until all classes are full.
