Hello. Happy to have found out about another digital news outlet in Georgia.
As a news outlet, can you please provide more transparency? For example, post on your website the names of your staff, their bios, and contact information. Do the same for your owners. Who are your owners? Plus, include a street address, rather than a P.O. Box, for your location. Street addresses create more trust.
And please use the words “contact us” with corresponding link on your site. That adds more clarity than “News Tips.”
I see no formal code of journalistic ethics, e.g. like the one from the Society of Professional Journalists. I do see some mention of your mission, but a formal code is more comprehensive and addresses more of what could make you more trustworthy in the eyes of readers.
Then make the code easily accessible on your website. Teach your readers how to use your code to hold you accountable for high ethical values and journalism quality. And teach news literacy.
Hope this is helpful. Thanks so much.
