My name is Lonnie D. Story and I am an attorney in Daytona Beach, Florida. I would like to make contact with a WMAZ investigative reporter. My father, John O. Story, a veteran and retired Chief of Police for the Medical Center, now aged 90 years was taken extreme advantage of by a salesman at Five Star Nissan in Warner Robins. The matter is currently under investigation by Georgia Protective Services and the Houston County Sheriff’s department. There’s much to the story, but, I will give you the shortened version. My father bought a car from Five Star in January of this year. He went back in June to get his oil changed. The salesman that sold him that car convinced him to come to his office after stating he would take care of the oil change. After 4.5 hours, he had convinced my father to buy another car, more expensive and to leave the other new car at the dealership with the keys. He instructed my father to report to Nissan where the car was and to come repossess the January car. All of this was done while my father was confused because of his age and five prior strokes. My father tried to return the car the following Monday but was told by the salesman and the finance manager it could not be done since they had already been paid. There is much more but I believe this gives you a general idea. Bank of America instructed my father to report the matter as elder exploitation and elder abuse. After two weeks of extreme distress, my father drove 6.5 hours from Ft. Valley to the home of me and my wife to tell me what happened. Naturally, I reported it to authorities. My father filed a complaint with the Houston Co. Sheriff’s office. What these people did was absolutely evil, exploitive for personal gain at my father’s expense because they thought he was just a single, old, lonely man with great credit. Now that credit is ruined as well has his mental health. I would love to discuss this further with a reporter. They should not be allowed to get away with all the hurt they have caused.
