(Feb. 9, 2026) \u2013 Local middle schoolers will benefit from a $7,500 grant awarded to the Fort Valley Youth Center of Excellence by Sparklight\u00ae through its Charitable Giving Fund. The grant will go toward Project SparkSpace, an initiative supporting important classroom updates, including new learning technology and instructional supplies.\r\n\r\nDuring its recent grant cycle, Sparklight awarded more than $125,000 in grants to 25 nonprofit organizations across the cities and towns it serves. From child and family support to hunger relief to education and vital skills training, the funding is helping enhance communities and uplift lives.\r\n\r\n\u201cStudents do their best learning when they have access to engaging tools and a supportive environment,\u201d said Jane Shanley, Sparklight Senior Regional Director, Southeast. \u201cSparklight is proud to help create a classroom where Fort Valley students can explore new ideas, build skills and feel inspired about their future.\u201d\r\n\r\nFort Valley Youth Center of Excellence Grants Manager Dr. Michael Edwards expressed appreciation for the grant.\r\n\r\n\u201cWe are truly grateful for Sparklight\u2019s support of Project SparkSpace,\u201d said Edwards. \u201cThis generous grant helps us upgrade our middle school classroom into a modern, engaging space where students can learn, create and envision a brighter future. Since the Fund\u2019s inception in 2020, Sparklight has awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to more than 275 nonprofits that make a difference in the lives of those they serve.\r\n\r\nNonprofit organizations may apply for a grant during open application periods each spring and fall.
