GREAT BREAKING NEWS!
Hello,
My name is Melissa, and I work for Luke’s Wings (a non-profit providing complimentary flights for qualifying wounded, ill, injured and in hospice care service members / veterans, as well as for line of duty related seriously injured first responders – www.lueswings.org ).
I am writing to you today regarding Demika Lloyd, the Clayton County police officer who was shot and very seriously injured on July 27, 2022. While Demika has been hospitalized and rehabilitating from the gunshot wound to her head, her brother has been managing her care and more from Florida. Luke’s Wings has been honored to provide regular flights to Frederick, so he could be by her side and manage her care, working closely with Demika’s care team. Earlier this week I received a very excited call from Frederick – Demika is finally coming home! After at least 2 almost discharges, this time it is finally happening! The entire family is over-joyed (I am, too!) and will be celebrating her homecoming this Friday. Even better? Luke’s Wings is flying in 3 more of Demika’s family, as a surprise, to join in on Demika’s celebration.
We (with Fredericks approval and encouragement) are reaching out to you today in hopes that you would help celebrate this momentous time and provide your audience with a “happy ending” to a previously tragic story. Please feel free to call me at any time to discuss this wonderful opportunity.
