News Tip – Firefighters Sue City of Roswell
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to the Georgia Sun because I saw your coverage concerning the City of Roswell and its fire department. Given your prior coverage of the City of Roswell and its fire department, we thought you might find the pending litigation against the City of Roswell related to its fire department of interest.

As alleged in the Complaint, the lawsuit is a class action brought on behalf of all persons currently and/or formerly employed as firefighters by the City of Roswell Fire Department between August 29, 2011 through and including August 29, 2017, who worked forty (40) hours or more per standard workweek, but did not receive the benefits conferred upon regular full-time employees, which the complaint alleges violates the applicable City of Roswell Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual.

If you desire copies of the following, please reach out to me at the email address provided:

1) the Complaint;
2) the City of Roswell’s Answer;
3) the Georgia Court of Appeals opinion affirming the trial court’s certification of the class of fire firefighters; and
4) the trial court order, entered on April 14, 2023, which among other things denied, in part, the City’s motion for summary judgment.

The parties are set for a jury trial to begin on June 27, 2023, in Fulton County Superior Court.

All of the information contained here is in the public record.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
