C5 GEORGIA YOUTH FOUNDATION RECEIVES $115,000 AWARD FROM CHESTNUT FAMILY FOUNDATION
Award supports summer programs and the expansion of social and emotional learning programs
ATLANTA (March 14, 2023) — C5 Georgia Youth Foundation, a five-year leadership development program serving under-resourced middle and high school youth, announced today they have received an award of $115,000 from the Chestnut Family Foundation.
The funds will be used to increase the number of students C5 Georgia is able to serve. The award will also help support the organization’s annual summer programming, including their leadership camp and challenge ready program. In addition, the donation will also be used to expand the social and emotional learning programs that C5 Georgia offers.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from the Chestnut Family Foundation. The programs that we offer not only help to develop the leadership skills of youth in Georgia but are transformational experiences that prepare them to face many of life’s challenges,” said Jackie Cannizzo, C5 Georgia, executive director. “This donation will allow us the opportunity to serve a greater number of students and change their lives through our various programs while preparing them to be leaders in our community.”
The Chestnut Family Foundation partners with organizations that have demonstrated compassion and creativity in improving access and choice for children. “C5 Georgia’s unique programs and core mission of equipping under-resourced teens with the tools and opportunities they need to achieve personal success strongly aligns with our values,” said Teresa Chestnut. “We are excited to support these programs that have such a tremendous impact on youth and look forward to seeing the continued success of C5 Georgia.”
Every C5 Georgia graduate has attended post-secondary education, joined the military or started their careers.
