AMERICUS — A 10-year-old girl was among the victims of a shooting in Americus on Friday evening.
According to the Americus Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 100 block of Cherokee Street at about 6:20 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 29-year-old male and the 10-year-old girl with gunshot wounds.
The young victim was rushed to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center alongside the male victim, both of whom were transported by EMS.
Police have identified Jatrellis Brown, 19, Khalil Reynolds, 21, and Kyon Hubbard, 18, as suspects in the shooting. Brown is currently in custody, while Reynolds and Hubbard have active warrants. All three are charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Additional charges are pending.
