Fraternal Lodge No. 37 Makes Generous Donation to Support Foster Families in Henry County
Donation Aims to Ease the Burden for Children Entering Foster Care
McDonough, GA — In a heartfelt act of charity and civic duty, Fraternal Lodge No. 37, Free and Accepted Masons, has approved a generous donation to the Henry County Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) to provide essential supplies to local foster families. The donation will be formally presented during the Lodge’s regular meeting on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 6:30 PM.
The contribution will help purchase clothing, bedding, hygiene items, and other necessary supplies for children entering care—especially during their critical first 48 hours of placement.
“Children often enter the foster system with little more than the clothes on their backs,” said Worshipful Master Jim Robinson. “This donation reflects our Lodge’s commitment to relieving distress and supporting the most vulnerable in our community.”
Henry County DFCS serves children in need year-round, many of whom are placed in foster care under emergency circumstances. The agency works diligently to support both foster children and the foster parents who welcome them into their homes. The Lodge’s contribution will help address urgent placement needs—such as cribs, backpacks, formula, and car seats—which are not always readily available.
This charitable act is a direct expression of Masonic values, particularly the principle of relief, which calls on Masons to offer meaningful support where it is most needed. The Lodge unanimously approved the donation during a recent stated communication.
“Our Lodge has stood in McDonough since 1844,” added Robinson. “We’re honored to carry on that legacy of service to our neighbors, especially those who care for children during life’s hardest transitions.”
