GBI investigates Abbeville shooting

ABBEVILLE -- Georgia authorities are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday in Abbeville.

ABBEVILLE — Georgia authorities are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday in Abbeville.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, preliminary information indicates that at about 10:37 p.m., the Abbeville Police Department responded to a shots fired call on Isabella Street in Abbeville.

Upon arrival, officers found 31-year-old Justin Joyner who had been shot one time in the abdomen area.

Witnesses described a white vehicle leaving the area after the shooting.

Joyner was life flighted to The Medical Center/Navicent Health in Macon, where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition. If anyone has information related to this investigation, please contact the GBI Region 13 Office at 478-987-4545.
