Hello to The Georgia Sun team,

I hope all is well! We’ve reached every ghost, ghoul, and creepy-crawly’s favorite month on the calendar. But while Halloween might make things spookier than usual where you live, some parts of the US are pretty eerie all year round, and the Peach State is no exception.

To find out where in America is the spookiest, Vivint compared US cities and states on a range of factors — from the number of ghost sightings to how many haunted house attractions there are per 100,000 people — and ranked them according to their scores. We also surveyed more than 1,000 Americans on their paranormal experiences.

Some Highlights for Georgia:

• Georgia is the 12th spookiest state in the U.S. — Ranking 11th in Ghost Sightings and 13th in Haunted Places, respectively.
• The spookiest cities in Georgia are Savannah and Atlanta, ranking in the Top 50 in the U.S. at 22nd and 34th, respectively.
• Savannah, GA ranks 14th for Haunted House Attractions, 18th for Haunted Places, 20th for Ghost Sightings, 26th for Spiritual Shops, and 28th for Funeral Services per capita.
• Atlanta, GA ranks 17th for Ghost Sightings, 25th for Funeral Services, 30th for Haunted House Attractions, 31st for Spiritual Shops, and 38th for Haunted Places & Supernatural Readings per capita.

As many Americans solidify their holiday plans and look to get in the Halloween spirit, your readers may interested to learn which cities and states are the spookiest in the country and how people are feeling about the paranormal. Interested in covering this new research? I’d be happy to get you additional information or expert quotes from the team at Vivint to help with a story.

All the best,
