SAVANNAH -- A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a Ford F-150 Friday night.

SAVANNAH — A 3-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a Ford F-150 Friday night.

The Savannah Police Department is investigating a crash that occurred around 7 p.m. Aug. 9, when officers responded to the 2200 block of Vicksburg Drive after the child ran out of the home and into the roadway, resulting in her being struck by an oncoming Ford F-150.

According to police, the vehicle left the scene and the child was transported to Memorial Medical Center by a private vehicle.

The truck’s driver later turned himself in to police at Memorial Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
