🙌 Why It Matters: The food distribution event aims to honor and support fathers and father figures who have made a positive impact on their families, while also addressing food insecurity in the community.

📍 What’s Happening: The food boxes will be distributed at 9 a.m. on June 15 at nine locations across DeKalb County, including:

  • New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, Stonecrest
  • Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Decatur
  • Saint Philip AME Church, Atlanta
  • Shy Temple CME Church, Decatur
  • Big Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Stonecrest
  • Berean Christian Church, Stone Mountain
  • The Covenant Church, Decatur
  • Rehoboth Baptist Church, Tucker
  • Plaza Fiesta, Atlanta

🤝 Community Effort: In addition to the churches, DeKalb County is collaborating with the Chamblee Coalition for Homelessness and La Vision Newspaper for this initiative.

💰 Funding Source: The county is using federal American Rescue Plan funds to purchase the produce and chicken for the food boxes.

📈 Making a Difference: Since May 2020, DeKalb County has distributed approximately 154,700 boxes of food to those in need, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting the community.
