{"id":9951,"date":"2019-06-29T17:31:12","date_gmt":"2019-06-29T21:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=9951"},"modified":"2019-06-29T17:32:52","modified_gmt":"2019-06-29T21:32:52","slug":"a-plane-carrying-three-passengers-crashed-in-brunswick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/news\/a-plane-carrying-three-passengers-crashed-in-brunswick\/","title":{"rendered":"A plane carrying three passengers crashed in a marsh near Brunswick"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>BRUNSWICK &#8212; A plane headed for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport ran out of fuel and crashed Saturday afternoon, according to Glynn County officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At about 3:06 p.m., a piper aircraft went down in the marsh off of Dan Road in Brunswick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The aircraft appears to have been travelling north and headed to the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport and ran out of fuel,&#8221; said Glynn County spokesman Matthew Kent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plane had a total of three male passengers. Two of the passengers were 17 years old and one passenger was an adult. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials say the occupants of the plane did not appear to be hurt and were in the marsh area with the aircraft one quarter mile off land. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glynn County Emergency Management, Fire Department, Police Department and Airport staff have been in communication with the passengers and the FAA and are on the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coast Guard helicopters are also on the scene to retrieve the passengers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BRUNSWICK &#8212; A plane headed for the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport ran out of fuel and crashed Saturday afternoon, according to Glynn County officials.
