The collaborative celebration, produced by TAG-Ed, engages STEM-based organizations and schools across the state to highlight the importance of science, technology, engineering and math.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors and school groups are encouraged to visit STEM-centric activity stations throughout the Zoo. At the\u00a0Science Station, use microscopes to look at insects up-close, and play \u201cfact or fiction\u201d to test your insect knowledge. At the\u00a0Technology Station, use FLIR thermal imaging technology at the gorilla habitats, and examine camera-trap images to better understand gorilla behaviors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the\u00a0Engineering Station, engineer design solutions focused on the future all-new African Savanna. At the Math Station, count and estimate wildlife populations using mark-recapture methods. Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while supplies last, and are free with general admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now more than ever, the STEM disciplines are central to the evolving fields of wildlife conservation, zoological animal care and interpretive design.
