{"id":7951,"date":"2019-02-13T16:13:09","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T21:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=7951"},"modified":"2023-12-20T22:27:57","modified_gmt":"2023-12-21T03:27:57","slug":"woodstock-summer-concert-series-to-feature-better-than-ezra-and-mark-wills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=7951","title":{"rendered":"Woodstock Summer Concert Series to Feature Better Than Ezra and Mark Wills"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The City of Woodstock\u2019s 22nd annual Summer Concert Series line-up has been announced and the series is set to kick or May 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, May 11, the series will open with country music legend and hometown favorite, Mark Wills<em>.<\/em>&nbsp;\u201cRecently inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, Mark Wills will return to our outdoor music venue for a second time,\u201d said Jeff Moon, city manager. \u201cMark Wills was the first headliner on the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater stage and Woodstock will celebrate his induction to the Grand Ole Opry on this night\u201d Moon continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, on Saturday, June 8, Woodstock will welcome<em>&nbsp;Better than Ezra&nbsp;<\/em>to the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater stage. <em>Better than Ezra<\/em>, an alternative rock band, will entertain the crowd with their hits like \u201cGood,\u201d a 1995 single that hit number 1 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, July 13,&nbsp;<em>Who\u2019s Bad,&nbsp;<\/em>a Michael Jackson tribute band, will headline the show. Thrilling fans since 2004, the crowd will see why&nbsp;<em>Who\u2019s Bad<\/em>&nbsp;is arguably the number one tribute band to the King of Pop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Saturday, August 10, Woodstock will welcome the&nbsp;<em>Little River Band<\/em>&nbsp;(LRB).&nbsp; Through the 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multi-platinum albums and chart-topping hits like: \u201cReminiscing,\u201d \u201cCool Change,\u201d \u201cLonesome Loser,\u201d \u201cThe Night Owls,\u201d \u201cTake It Easy On Me,\u201d and \u201cHelp Is on Its Way.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing show of the 22<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;annual Woodstock Summer Concert series will take place Sept. 14 with the&nbsp;<em>Molly Ringwalds<\/em>&nbsp;taking to the Amphitheater stage.&nbsp; This cover band is sure to take concert goers on a trip back to the 80\u2019s with hits that defined this&nbsp;<em>totally cool<\/em>&nbsp;musical era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very excited about what we have to offer concert-goers in this year\u2019s Summer Concert Series. We have a wide variety of music genres including 70\u2019s, 80\u2019s, 90\u2019s, country, and Motown\/R&amp;B,\u201d said Preston Pooser, parks and recreation director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 22<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;annual Woodstock Summer Concert Series will be held at Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater. Each concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to last year, City officials are currently working to finalize plans to utilize a shuttle for off-site parking.
