Here are some of the more intriguing and unique events throughout the state that are worth a weekend or day trip. Only high pollen and rain could spoil the fun at these events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffState Banana Pudding Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff If you just can&#8217;t get enough banana pudding, head down to Irwinton, Ga., where they have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bananapuddingfestival.com\">festival devoted to the popular dessert<\/a>. The festival benefits nonprofits, who present their puddings on the festival&#8217;s Puddin&#8217; Path. You sample each nonprofit&#8217;s offerings and vote for your favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The festivities actually begin with a 20 or 40 mile bike ride, which should make you good and hungry for a sweet banana-flavored treat. There are also crafts, vendors and a kids corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>\ufeffApril 7, starting at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>\ufeff128 East Main Street, Irwinton, Ga. 31042<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff Admission is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reptile Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.gastateparks.org\/info\/201662\">Reptile Day<\/a> at Panola Mountain Park in Stockbridge is your chance to bond with your favorite cold-blooded animals. Learn everything there is to know about snakes, lizards and other reptiles that might sneak their way into your backyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong> April 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>2620 Highway 155 SW, Stockbridge, Ga. 30281<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>&nbsp;$5 general admission, kids 3 and under can attend for free. Parking is $5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Primitive Tools and Weapons Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff If you like history or want your kids to have an appreciation for modern conveniences, head over to the Etowah Indian Mounds for <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.gastateparks.org\/info\/205348\">Primitive Tools and Weapons Day<\/a>. All ticket prices increase by $5 if purchased at the door.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffLittle River Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff A fairly typical spring festival at <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.gastateparks.org\/info\/260335\">Reed Bingham State Park<\/a>. This one is really good for children and is complete with building projects, music, archery and a fishing rodeo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>542 Reed Bingham Road, Adel, Ga. 31620<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff Parking is $5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Super Hero Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff <a href=\"https:\/\/mailchi.mp\/therockranch\/spring-a-ding-ding\">The Rock Ranch<\/a> in The Rock, Ga. is hosting Super Hero Day. Expect to see Captain America, Wonder Woman and Spiderman at this one, provided the world doesn&#8217;t need saving that day. Kids are invited to dress up as their favorite super heroes and participate in the ranch&#8217;s regular attractions as well as interact with their special super-human guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;5020 Hwy 36,&nbsp;The Rock, Ga. 30285<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> $13 for all guests over age 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Atlanta Dogwood Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff No spring event list would be complete without the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"\/city\/Atlanta\"   title=\"Atlanta\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Atlanta<\/a> Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park. If you&#8217;ve never been, it is an art festival that has evolved into so much more, including the disc dogs competition, Midway Rides and the popular Kids Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 13 through April 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;1071 Piedmont Ave.,&nbsp;Atlanta, Ga. 30309<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff The festival itself is free, but there are ticketed attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Georgia Great Steak Cook-off<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff If you love steak and want to eat as much of it as possible, all you really need to know about this event is that there will be plenty of steak to go around. It&#8217;s in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgiagreatsteakcookoff.com\/\">Hazlehurst, Ga.<\/a> and it doesn&#8217;t end with steaks. It also has a chicken wing cook-off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>45 Riverwood Trail,&nbsp;Hazlehurst, Ga. 31539&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Free to attend. If you think your steak is the best in Georgia it&#8217;ll cost you $150 to enter. $25 to enter your wings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Buzz on Bees Earth Day Celebration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff An <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.gastateparks.org\/info\/250144\">Earth Day celebration<\/a> at Tallulah Gorge State Park focused on bees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 21, 12 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;338 Jane Hurt Yarn Drive,&nbsp;Tallulah Falls, Ga. 30573<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff $5 parking fee.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffSpring Fling and BBQ Cook Off<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff A spring festival combined with a barbecue cook-off in downtown Moultrie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:&nbsp;<\/strong>\ufeffApril 20 and 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;1 North Main Street,&nbsp;Moultrie, Ga. 31768<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff Free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffWoodbine Crawfish Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff Woodbine hosts its 33rd annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woodbinecrawfish.com\">Crawfish Festival<\/a>, which promises Crawfish as well as children&#8217;s amusements, arts and crafts, cloggers and square dancers. The event also features a can&#8217;t-miss Crawfish parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 27 and 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;Waterfront Park in Downtown,&nbsp;Woodbine, Ga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong>\ufeff Admission is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffRose Show &amp; Festival<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff Anything event that has been going on for 97 years has to be something spectacular. The Thomasville Rose Show and Festival is quite a spectacle. There are flower shows, parades and concerts as well as tours of historic sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 26 through 28<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;144 East Jackson Street,&nbsp;Thomasville, Ga. 31792<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Most events are free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.underthegeorgiasun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/ccimage-ee32b8062bf21c3e81584d04ee44408be272e0d711b6184492f7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-903\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffRay On My Mind: The Music and Life of Ray Charles<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff A hybrid of a concert and theatre production highlighting the life and music of Georgia&#8217;s own Ray Charles. Kenny Brawner portrays Charles in this must-see performance at <a href=\"https:\/\/prod3.agileticketing.net\/websales\/pages\/info.aspx?evtinfo=316347~1ee4bbf1-ad05-4648-a595-fd47f45a5da0&amp;\">Mars Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 28 at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;106 S Laurel Street,&nbsp;Springfield, Ga. 31329<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Tickets are $35 for floor seating and $30 for balcony seating.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ufeffRock Swap &amp; Dig<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is it?:<\/strong> Graves Mountain is holding a three-day dig and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamineral.org\/ft\/commercial\/ftgravesmain.html\">rock swap<\/a>. The concept here is fairly simple, you and your family can spend the day digging for unique rocks and then trade them with other collectors afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When is it?:<\/strong>\ufeff April 27 through 29<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where is it?:<\/strong>&nbsp;Graves Mountain,&nbsp;Highway 378&nbsp;Lincolnton, Ga. 30817<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cost:<\/strong> Admission is free.
