{"id":43782,"date":"2022-11-22T18:03:34","date_gmt":"2022-11-22T23:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=43782"},"modified":"2022-11-22T18:10:07","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T23:10:07","slug":"three-camden-county-officers-arrested-after-jail-battery-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=43782","title":{"rendered":"Three Camden County officers arrested after jail battery incident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The GBI has arrested and charged Camden County Corporal Correction Officer Mason Garrick, age 23, of Bryceville, Florida, Camden County Deputies Ryan Biegel, age 24, and Braxton Massey, age 21, both from Kingsland, Georgia, with one count of battery and one count of violation of oath of public office.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday,\u00a0Nov. 15, the Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney\u2019s Office asked the GBI to investigate an incident that took place in the Camden County Jail between Camden County Jail staff and 41-year-old Jarrett Hobbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hobbs was arrested and booked into the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"\/county\/Camden\"   title=\"Camden\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"1091\">Camden<\/a> County Jail in September and was was placed in an isolation cell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the GBI, while attempting to take Hobbs out of the jail cell, Garrick, Biegel, and Massey struck\u00a0Hobbs multiple times, causing injury to Hobbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This investigation is active and ongoing.
