Georgia’s gas price average<\/a> continues to\u00a0trend lower ahead of the Thanksgiving<\/a> holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of\u00a0$3.11\u00a0per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s\u00a0state average<\/a>\u00a0is\u00a06\u00a0cents\u00a0less\u00a0than a week ago, 12 cents less than a month ago, and 13 cents less than this time last year.\u00a0It now costs\u00a0$46.65\u00a0to fill a\u00a015-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Drivers are now paying almost\u00a0$2.00 less to fill-up at the pump compared to last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe over 1.5 million Georgians hitting the road for Thanksgiving will find pump prices less expensive compared to last year,\u201d said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. \u201cWhen it comes time to fill-up during the trip, drivers should keep in mind that gas stations along highly traveled routes may find prices more expensive. AAA recommends drivers download the free AAA Mobile app to find the lowest gas prices in their area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Average Trends Downward<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline has decreased by 10 cents to $3.67. According to data from the Energy Information Administration, gas demand decreased from 9.01 million barrels a day to 8.74 million barrels a day last week. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks rose by nearly 2.2 million barrels to 207.9 million barrels. Increasing supply and falling gasoline demand have contributed to pushing pump prices lower. As demand remains low and stocks grow, drivers will likely continue to see pump prices decline ahead of Thanksgiving.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Least expensive Georgia metro markets <\/strong>\u2013 Columbus ($3.03), Rome ($3.01) and Warner Robins ($2.98).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
