{"id":42041,"date":"2022-10-14T16:16:14","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T20:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=42041"},"modified":"2022-10-14T16:18:06","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T20:18:06","slug":"weekend-lane-closures-on-i-285-will-impact-dekalb-county-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=42041","title":{"rendered":"Weekend lane closures on I-285 will impact DeKalb County drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285\u00a0to continue\u00a0a resurfacing project on 1.5 miles between Snapfinger Road\u00a0and Rainbow Drive\u00a0in <a href=\"\/tag\/DeKalb-County\">DeKalb County<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resurfacing project is expected to produce a smoother ride for drivers while also improving the condition of the deteriorating roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weather and on-site conditions permitting, crews will install \u201crolling\u201d closures on I-285 northbound and southbound between Snapfinger Road and Rainbow Drive from 5\u00a0a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16\u00a0until 5\u00a0a.m. on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning with the left lanes, the location of the closures will \u201croll\u201d as crews complete work in one area and move to another.\u00a0When the left lanes are complete, the rolling closures will be installed on the right lanes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On-site message boards and traffic control measures will alert drivers approaching the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lane closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers through the project area as crews continue milling, inlay and resurfacing to improve the deteriorating roadway.
