{"id":41113,"date":"2022-09-19T14:39:19","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T18:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=41113"},"modified":"2022-09-19T14:41:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T18:41:23","slug":"drug-rich-gang-member-gets-life-without-parole-for-murder-of-19-year-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=41113","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Drug Rich&#8217; gang member gets life without parole for murder of 19-year-old"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A member of\u00a0the notorious \u201cDrug Rich\u201d hybrid criminal street gang originating from <a href=\"\/tag\/Stone-Mountain\">Stone Mountain<\/a> has been sentenced to life without parole plus 45-years in prison after being convicted of murder and related charges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"\/tag\/DeKalb-County\">DeKalb County<\/a> District Attorney&#8217;s office, 26-year-old William Moore-Earvin learned his fate during\u00a0a sentencing hearing before DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Gregory A. Adams on Sept. 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeKalb County jurors returned guilty verdicts against Moore-Earvin in late August on charges of murder, felony murder (three counts,) armed robbery (two counts,)\u00a0aggravated assault, and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Andrew Miller.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident happened on July 6, 2020, at the Ashland Pine apartment complex on Walden Walk Circle in Stone Mountain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeKalb police officers responded to the\u00a0location on a \u201cperson shot\u201d call. Upon arrival, they found Miller on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was unresponsive. Emergency personnel attempted to render aid, but Miller died of his injuries at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the investigation, the victim and a friend were at the location to purchase a handgun from the Moore-Earvin and to sell a rifle to him.\u00a0After a brief meeting in the breezeway with Moore-Earvin and two other men who were with him, Miller returned to his car to retrieve the weapon he was selling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to prosecutors, Miller fired several demonstration shots into a tree before the weapon jammed.\u00a0At that point, Moore-Earvin turned his gun on Miller and his friend and ordered them to \u201cgive it up.\u201d Moore-Earvin then shot Miller in the chest. All three suspects then held the victim\u2019s friend at gunpoint, before stealing his phone\u00a0and escaping in Miller\u2019s white Toyota Corolla.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A search of the suspects\u2019 social media records revealed videos of the trio celebrating at Moore-Earvin\u2019s apartment hours after the shooting. The\u00a0victim\u2019s gun, stolen from the scene, was spotted on the floor of the Moore-Earvin&#8217;s apartment in one of the videos posted on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moore-Earvin was arrested on murder charges ten days after the crime. The victim\u2019s car was located in plain view in front of the Moore-Earvin&#8217;s apartment complex\u00a0at the time of his arrest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-defendants Emmanuel \u201cManny\u201d Dawson and Arthur \u201cFazo\u201d Harriet were arrested a short time later for their roles in the crime.
