ATLANTA<\/a> — Music Midtown was supposed to be September 17 and 18 this year at Piedmont Park. However, this morning, event organizers announced that the beloved festival was canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement came in the form of posts on social media and on the festival website. You can read the announcement below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hey Midtown fans – due to circumstances beyond our control, Music Midtown will no longer be taking place this year. We were looking forward to reuniting in September and hope we can all get back to enjoying the festival together again soon. <\/p>

Refunds will be processed automatically within the next 24 hours to the original method of payment. Please allow 7-10 business days for the refund to be processed by your bank. For any questions related to refunds, please visit contact.frontgatetickets.com.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Those “circumstances beyond our control,” may have been related to concerns over Georgia’s laws concerning guns in public places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the AJC<\/a>, event organizers were concerned after a recent court ruling involving another organization, that they would not be able to keep guns out of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It does not appear these concerns are related specifically to Georgia’s new constitutional carry gun laws, but rather laws that were passed in 2014 allowing guns to be carried on public property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n[mailerlite_form form_id=5]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
