{"id":37808,"date":"2022-07-07T09:02:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T13:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=37808"},"modified":"2022-07-07T09:05:49","modified_gmt":"2022-07-07T13:05:49","slug":"heat-advisory-in-effect-for-most-of-georgia-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=37808","title":{"rendered":"Heat advisory in effect for most of Georgia today"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It&#8217;s going to be another <a href=\"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/2022\/06\/13\/5-ways-to-keep-cool-in-the-georgia-heat\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4754\">scorcher in Georgia<\/a> today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the National Weather Service, heat indexes throughout the state are expected to reach between 105 and 109 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for all parts of Georgia except an area in the Northeast Georgia mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather service is advising Georgia residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
