{"id":26791,"date":"2021-05-21T17:52:22","date_gmt":"2021-05-21T21:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=26791"},"modified":"2021-05-21T17:53:06","modified_gmt":"2021-05-21T21:53:06","slug":"around-georgia-water-outages-coronavirus-vaccines-and-good-samaritans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/?p=26791","title":{"rendered":"Around Georgia: Water outages, coronavirus vaccines and good samaritans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Tuesday, May 25, DeKalb County and its contractors will temporarily interrupt water service to businesses and residents between 2308 to 2960 Shallowford Road from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.<strong>, <\/strong>to properly replace a leaking 30-inch water line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents and businesses will experience low water pressure for several hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">COVID vaccine event this weekend in Atlanta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>District 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/2019\/01\/07\/atlanta-city-council-members-honor-outgoing-georgia-governor-nathan-deal\/\">Council member<\/a> Cleta Winslow and Post 1 At-Large Council member Michael Julian Bond are co-sponsoring two upcoming COVID-19 vaccination clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first vaccination clinic will take place Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the West Hunter Baptist Church, 1040 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. Participants are asked to look for the Walgreens Mobile Bus in the parking lot behind the church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second will be held Sunday, May 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Monday Night Garage, 933 Lee Street SW. The vaccination clinics are sponsored by Walgreens, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/2018\/04\/05\/fulton-county-commission-chairman-robb-pitts-involved-in-car-accident\/\">Fulton County<\/a> Commissioner Natalie Hall, and several local businesses and community partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get vaccinated in DeKalb County<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/2019\/07\/20\/dekalb-commissioner-larry-johnson-has-been-elected-2nd-vice-president-of-the-national-association-of-counties\/\">DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson<\/a> will host a free COVID-19 vaccination event on Monday, May 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the JenCare parking, 2124 Candler Road, Decatur, Georgia 30032.<br>&nbsp;<br>This event will be held in partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegeorgiasun.com\/2020\/06\/18\/meet-dekalb-countys-new-superintendent-of-schools\/\">DeKalb County<\/a> Board of Health, the DeKalb Human Services Department and JenCare Senior Medical Center.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cWe are starting to experience a slower response rate with people getting the COVID-19 vaccine,\u201d Commissioner Johnson said. \u201cTherefore, we want to remove any obstacles and take the resources to the people for anyone that wants to be vaccinated\u2013no appointment needed.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>The DeKalb Mobile Wellness Clinic will be onsite and licensed health professionals will administer Pfizer vaccinations to attendees. Frankel of the Georgia State Patrol, and while EMS was evaluating the man, Cpl.
