What’s happening:<\/strong> All northbound and southbound lanes of I-285 will close between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (exit 9) and Cascade Road (exit 7). The shutdown starts at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8, and is set to lift by 5 a.m. Monday, May 11, as long as weather and ground conditions allow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why the road is closing:<\/strong> Work crews need to grind down the existing concrete road surface using heavy equipment before they can repair and replace damaged slabs.
