The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is bringing back its 14th Annual Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Workshop from October 31 to November 2, 2025, at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t your typical retreat with yoga mats and mimosas. Instead, think backpacking, fishing, shooting sports, outdoor cooking, and nature photography \u2014 all taught by pros in a friendly, low-pressure setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe atmosphere is positive and non-competitive, allowing every participant to feel confident, supported, and ready to have fun,\u201d said program coordinator Casey Carrillo.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-the-vibe\">What\u2019s the vibe?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open to women 18+ at any skill level<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over 30 classes to pick from, ranging from chill (like nature photography) to hands-on tough (like shooting sports)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Options for camping in a tent, bringing your RV, or staying in the on-site lodge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost: $255\u2013$300 depending on lodging, with 10 scholarships available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Registration runs Sept. 2\u2013Oct. 15, but spots usually disappear fast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-it-matters\">Why it matters<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The BOW program is about more than just learning how to tie a better knot or cook over a fire.
