A man walking across Canton Road on Friday night was struck by an SUV and later died at the hospital, according to Cobb County police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. just north of Jamerson Road. Police said the man was walking across the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he entered the path of a northbound Mercedes-Benz GLE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SUV was driven by a 42-year-old man from Woodstock with two children as passengers. None of the vehicle\u2019s occupants were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pedestrian was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital by ambulance but did not survive. Authorities are still working to identify him and contact his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
