SAVANNAH — A 57-year-old Savannah woman was killed in a pedestrian-involved wreck Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Savannah Police Department is investigating wreck, which ocurred on Ogeechee Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers responded to the 4300 block of Ogeechee Road around 6:30 p.m. and discovered Mae Helen James suffering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She was transported to a hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A preliminary investigation revealed that James was attempting to cross from north to south on Ogeechee Road when she was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Avalanche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the police department, James was not in a crosswalk at the time she was struck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
