The East Point Police were on hand for National Night Out 2024, which was complete with hot dogs, frisbee games, and dancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It is held across the United States on the first Tuesday in August (or in some areas, the first Tuesday in October). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event encourages residents to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement. Activities often include block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and various other community events that feature safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits. National Night Out aims to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while fostering a true sense of community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
