The Atlanta Police Department has named a suspect in the fatal shooting of 7-year-old Kennedy Maxie near Phipps Plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police haves secured arrest warrants for 24-year-old Daquan Reed on charges of Felony Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Reckless Conduct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators say they are actively working to arrest Reed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kennedy died Saturday night. A $15,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for Kennedy\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atlanta<\/a> Police Department officers responded to Scottish Rite Hospital at about 9 p.m. Monday to a call about a child being shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the hospital investigators spoke to Kennedy\u2019s aunt who informed them she had been driving past Phipps Plaza<\/a> when she heard several gunshots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The aunt continued to drive and a short time later noticed that her niece was acting strangely. The aunt realized Kennedy had been shot and drove to the hospital where the Kennedy was taken into surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Investigators say Kennedy was shot in the back of the head. They do not believe the Lexus she was riding in was the intended target of the shooters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
