SAVANNAH — A robbery attempt at a pizza restaurant in Savannah was thwarted by an employee who police say returned the suspect’s fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say officers responded to Donatos Pizza at about 9:40 p.m. September 11 on a report of an attempted armed robbery and shots fired. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Savannah Police Department, preliminary investigation revealed that a suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Joseph Osborne entered the store and presented a firearm. Police say he fired shots at the employees prompting one of the employees to return fire, striking Osborne. None of the employees were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When officers arrived, Osborne was located and transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police say further investigation revealed that 21-year-old Andreall Taylor was involved in the incident. She was arrested and charged with party to the crime of murder and armed robbery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
