In addition to expected severe storms<\/a> Saturday, Georgians will have to contend with high winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for north and central Georgia that will remain in effect until 10 p.m. Saturday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winds are expected to be 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to about 35 miles per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather service says that with saturated soil, the wind could uproot trees causing downed power lines. The gusts could also blow unsecured objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service is urging extra caution while driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the current forecast model, severe thunderstorms will begin rolling into Northwest Georgia around 3 p.m. Saturday. They will reach the metro area between 6 and 10 p.m. and will head toward East Georgia after 10 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
