Gwinnett County charity shut down for illegal gambling

Gwinnett Police Special Investigations Unit has arrested 51-year-old Dennis Maxwell of Flowery Branch.

He has been charged with commercial gambling, a felony, and keeping a gambling place, a misdemeanor.

Maxwell is the owner of 554 W. Main St NE in Buford.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, Little Kings and Queens was running an illegal gambling operation under a guise of a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

As a result, over 30,000 dollars in illegal funds were seized, and the business was shut down.
