BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Police arrested a 29-year-old Savannah Man Sunday afternoon after a shooting police say was motivated by road rage.
According to the Brookhaven Police Department, at about 1:53 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the intersection of Peachtree Road and N. Druid Hills Road in reference to reports of shots fired. While officers were responding to the initial 911 call, they received a second 911 call in reference to a person shot at Dresden Drive and Ellijay Drive.
Officers responding to Dresden Drive found a 46-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Police began life saving measures. The victim was later transported to a local trauma center for treatment of his wounds.
Officers responding to the initial shots fired call, encountered a 29-year-old man who told them he was involved in a shooting nearby. Officers detained the man for further questioning by investigators.
According to police, the initial investigation has revealed the victim and shooter were involved in a “road rage” incident which led to the victim being shot multiple times. Investigators have arrested and charged the 29-year-old from Savannah with Aggravated Assault.
The shooter is currently being detained at the Dekalb County Detention Center.
