BROOKHAVEN — The City of Brookhaven has finalized details to become the next host of a mobile sculpture exhibit by internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Jorge Marin.
The “Wings of the City” mobile art exhibition is comprised of a collection of nine bronze sculptures, that will be displayed in different locations around Brookhaven.
The City Council approved funding to bring the exhibition to Brookhaven, during its March 22 business meeting, and announced that Explore Brookhaven has pledged $10,000 to offset exhibition expenses.
The exhibition is the first planned event by the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission since Brookhaven designated the Buford Highway Cultural Corridor in January. The City and its Arts and Culture Commission are collaborating with the Jorge Marín Foundation and the Consulate General of Mexico in Atlanta to final details and installation locations.
