Three Cherokee County parks are getting new pavilions.

Calm Waters Inc. will construct a pavilion at Hunkey Mauldin Sports Complex, one at Cherokee Veterans Park near the playground, and one at Patriots Park near the playground.

Funding for the pavilion at Hunkey Mauldin comes from a grant from Pilgrims, and Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax dollars will pay for the other two pavilions.

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved, awarding the agreement to Calm Waters Inc. for $254,248 plus a $25,500 county-controlled contingency.
