MONTICELLO — The mayor and city council of the City of Monticello are planning to vote for pay increases for themselves next month.
If the measure passes on May 11, the mayor would get a $300 per month pay raise, bringing the mayor’s yearly salary to $14,400. The Mayor Pro Tem would get a pay bump of $250 per month, bringing that salary to $10,800 per year and city council members would get a pay increase of $300 per month, bringing their salaries to $9,000 per year.
If the city council votes for the pay increases, they would go into effect Jan. 1 of next year.
