Severe weather across US causes COVID-19 vaccination cancelations in Georgia

The severe weather system that caused power and water outages in Texas is also being felt in Georgia.

The Cobb and Douglas County Public Health Department had to cancel vaccination appointments at Jim R. Miller Park and Arbor Place Mall due to a supply shortage caused by the weather.

Appointments scheduled for Saturday and today have been canceled because health department officials say they have not received their expected shipments of the coronavirus vaccine.

Officials are assuring those who had their appointments canceled that they will be first in line when vaccination at those sites resumes.

To locate additional COVID-19 vaccine providers, visit the Georgia Department of Public Health’s vaccine locator tool: https://dph.georgia.gov/locations/covid-vaccination-site

The state has also opened four mass vaccination sites across the state. Those sites open for the first time today. Appointments are required and can be made by visiting https://MyVaccineGeorgia.com.
